The photography of motion

In an age where cameras invade every pocket its sometimes hard to remember the visual revolution they caused in how the body and world around us was considered.

Edwaeard Muybridge caused a sensation in his day with his time-lapse photography of the human and animal body in motion. For the first time people could see what is now a main stay of all live sport TV coverage – actions slowed down to their minute detail and open to analysis.
